Dwight Holing
Chair of the Board-Elect
Dwight Holing is Chair of the Board-Elect of the American Diabetes Association, the nation's largest voluntary health organization leading the fight to Stop Diabetes®. He is the author of numerous nonfiction books on the environment, natural history and travel (University of California Press, Random House and Macmillan) and an award-winning collection of short fiction, California Works. He also provides communications consulting to a variety of organizations.
Holing's national service with the American Diabetes Association includes having just completed a term as Vice Chair of the Board. He was Secretary/Treasurer and led the Association's Strategic Plan Task Force in 2011. He has also served on a variety of other national committees. Locally, Holing has served as Chair and is a current member of the San Francisco Community Leadership Board. He is a member of the American Diabetes Association's Pinnacle Society and Summit Circle. These are recognition societies representative of individuals who are providing significant contributions to the Association through major gifts and their estate plans, respectively.
Holing holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Oregon.
