Gretchen Youssef, MS, RD, CDE
Board of Directors
Gretchen Youssef is Program Manager of the MedStar Diabetes Institute. Her work at Medstar has included managing all aspects of the Diabetes Prevention Program trial at the Institute and coordinating other phase three pharmaceutical trials.
She is also the director of the Diabetes for Life Learning Center, responsible for protocol development, personnel, fundraising and educating patients in this grant funded Diabetes Self Management Education program for high risk individuals in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. She has been an American Diabetes Association volunteer for eight years. On the national level she has served on the Education Program Recognition Committee since 2005, and is currently Chair of the Committee.
Gretchen earned her BS in Medical Dietetics from Pennsylvania State University, and her MS in Health Promotion Management from Marymount University in Arlington, VA.
