Margaret (Maggie) Powers, PhD, RD, CDE

Maggie Powers is a Research Scientist at the International Diabetes Center at Park Nicollet in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where her research focuses on performance improvement with organizations and individuals to improve diabetes outcomes.
Dr. Powers is also pioneering work with continuous glucose monitoring to study the glycemic response of food. Additionally, she is leading the design of a validated instrument to assess risk of eating disorders in persons with type 1 diabetes.
Dr. Powers has served on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) and the American Dietetic Association, as well as on other prestigious committees and task forces. She has served on the American Diabetes Association Publications Policy and Scientific Sessions Meeting Planning Committees and the Professional Education Project Team.
Dr. Powers began doing local volunteer work for the American Diabetes Association more than 30 years ago.
