Marjorie Cypress, PhD, RN, CNP, CDE
President-Elect, Health Care & Education
Marjorie Cypress is an Adult Nurse Practitioner with Albuquerque Health Partners and an independent consultant.
She has worked in diabetes clinical care, self-management education and professional education for more than 25 years. She also has several publications in lay and professional journals.
Dr. Cypress has been an American Diabetes Association volunteer since the late 1980s. She has served as a Community Leadership Board Chair for the past six years and been a strong supporter of Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes and Tour de Cure locally. She is a past member of the American Diabetes Association's Board of Directors and has also served or is currently serving on the following national committees: Education Program Recognition, Professional Practice and Publications Policy.
In 2004, she was the recipient of the American Diabetes Association Outstanding Educator in Diabetes Award. She is also a member of the American Diabetes Association's Pinnacle Society.
Dr. Cypress holds an MS in Nursing, Adult Health from S.U.N.Y. at Stony Brook, New York, and a PhD, College of Nursing at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
