Vanessa Jones Briscoe, PhD, NP, CDE
Vanessa Jones Briscoe is an Assistant Research Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She also serves as Director for the Cardiovascular Health Disparities Project implemented by the Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance.
In addition, Dr. Briscoe is a board certified Nurse Practitioner and Certified Diabetes Educator with more than 20 years of experience in the health care arena. Since 2004, she has coordinated several studies in the areas of metabolic syndrome, hypoglycemia and exercise.
Dr. Briscoe has been an American Diabetes Association volunteer for 17 years. Her initial involvement included work with the piloting of an African American targeted initiative to help reduce disparities facing minority and underserved populations. She also serves on the Adult Strategies Committee.
Locally, Dr. Briscoe is serving as President of Nashville's Community Leadership Board.
