Vincent Poitout, DVM, PhD
Board Member
Vincent Poitout is Professor of Medicine at the University of Montreal and holds the Canada Research Chair in Diabetes and Pancreatic Beta-Cell Function.
He is also Associate Scientific Director, Basic Research, at the Centre de Recherche du CHUM as well as Associate Director, Research, at the Montreal Diabetes Research Center. He has been working in diabetes research for 20 years in France, the United States and Canada. He is a former member of the Editorial Board of Endocrinology and a current Editorial Board member of Diabetes and The Journal of Biological Chemistry.
As an early boost to his career, Dr. Poitout was the recipient of a research grant from the American Diabetes Association and the 2003 recipient of the Thomas R. Lee Career Development Award. In addition to being a member of the Canadian Diabetes Association, he has been a six-year member and Chair of the American Diabetes Association Research Grant Review Committee.
