As a resource for foot care products suitable for people with diabetes, Richelieu Hosiery USA Inc, maker of MEDIPEDS® has joined the movement to Stop Diabetes®! MEDIPEDS® offerings include diabetic socks and educational materials on diabetic foot care and skincare. In support of those affected by diabetes, MediPeds is working with the Association to communicate the importance of proper foot care in the management of diabetes. As a supporter of the Association's "Double Up Challenge" direct mail fundraising campaign, the company helps encourage consumers to make a donation to the Association to fund research programs and education and will match donations up to $50,000.

MEDIPEDS® also supports the diabetes community through its presence at Diabetes EXPO and encourages consumer participation in local events.

Nutrisystem® D®

Nutrisystem® D®, a product of Nutrisystem, a leading developer of weight loss products and services is supporting the American Diabetes Association by helping to educate consumers about the importance of losing weight and maintaining a healthy weight for people with type 2 diabetes. Nutrisystem is also providing educational tools for Health Care Professionals to ensure that they have the resources they need to help their patients with diabetes who are struggling with their weight. Walgreens

Walgreen Co., the nation's largest drugstore chain, is committed to helping the Association educate the public about their risk for developing type 2 diabetes, providing support for tools and resources to help those with the disease better manage it as well as raise critical funds to help stop this deadly disease. Each November, during American Diabetes Month®, Walgreens conducts a pin pad donation campaign at their nearly 8,000 locations across the United States that raises millions of dollars in support of the diabetes cause. The company participates in the Association's educational event – America Diabetes Association EXPO and supports the American Diabetes Association Alert Day® by encouraging their customers to take the Diabetes Risk Test to find out if they are at risk for type 2 diabetes. They also promote the importance of physical activity by participating in Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes® events across the country. The Association is one of the company's partner charities that align with "Walgreens Steps with Balanced® Rewards" health and wellness initiative.

Walmart

The Walmart Foundation is a major supporter of the American Diabetes Association's movement to Stop Diabetes. This year, the Foundation awarded the Association with a $1 million grant to fund our Living With Type 2 Diabetes program which offers help, hope and support to people newly diagnosed with diabetes. This grant reinforces Walmart's commitment to improving the lives of individuals in local communities. As a founding sponsor of the program, Walmart's grant will support the development and distribution of tools and resources for patients through direct mail, online and healthcare professional outreach. The Walmart Foundation is also a sponsor of the American Diabetes Association EXPO, the nation's premier diabetes education event that provides consumers with strategies, tools and solutions to help them better manage their diabetes an interactive and participatory setting. Walmart associates are also engaged in communities nationwide through their participation in the Association's signature events Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes and Tour de Cure.
