Colgate Total® supports the American Diabetes Association and their efforts to Stop Diabetes by educating consumers and health care professionals about the important role that oral care plays as it relates to the management of diabetes and living an overall healthy lifestyle. They accomplish this through a variety of ways, including support of the Association's Oral Health & Hygiene section on diabetes.org and participating in events such as American Diabetes Association EXPO and Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes in communities throughout the country.
The Kroger Co., the country's largest traditional grocery retailer, has joined the American Diabetes Association as a National Strategic Partner. They are aligned with the Association around the important cause of diabetes awareness and management by reaching customers with and at risk for diabetes and reinforcing its corporate commitment to healthy living. Key elements of the company's support will include:
- Conducting in-store donation campaigns at their locations to raise much needed funds in support of the diabetes cause
- The promotion of physical activity by participating in Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes and Tour de Cure events around the country
- The creation of a National Step Out Walk Team.
The company will also participate in the Association's Living with Type 2 Diabetes program and educational Multicultural Events in local communities around the country.
As a resource for foot care products suitable for people with diabetes, PEDS® Legwear makers of MediPeds® has joined the movement to Stop Diabetes! MediPeds offerings include diabetic socks and educational materials on diabetic foot care. In support of those affected by diabetes, MediPeds is working with the Association to communicate the importance of proper foot care in the management of diabetes. As a supporter of the Association's "Double Up Challenge" direct mail fundraising campaign, the company helps encourage consumers to make a donation to the Association to fund research programs and education and will match donations up to $50,000.
The MediPeds brand also supports the diabetes community through its presence at Diabetes EXPO and encourages consumer participation in local events.
Nutrisystem® D®, a product of Nutrisystem, a leading developer of weight loss products and services is supporting the American Diabetes Association by helping to educate consumers about the importance of losing weight and maintaining a healthy weight for people with type 2 diabetes. Nutrisystem is also a National Sponsor of Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes, providing samples and encouraging their customer base to support the Association. In addition, Nutrisystem D strongly supports the local Philadelphia Association events to help ensure that their community is working together to Stop Diabetes.

Walgreen Co., the nation's largest drugstore chain, is committed to helping the Association educate the public about their risk for developing type 2 diabetes, providing support for tools and resources to help those with the disease better manage it as well as raise critical funds to help stop this deadly disease. Each November, during American Diabetes Month, Walgreens conducts a pin pad donation campaign at their nearly 8,000 locations across the United States that raises millions of dollars in support of the diabetes cause. The company participates in the Association's educational event – America Diabetes Association EXPO and supports the American Diabetes Association Alert Day by encouraging their customers to take the Diabetes Risk Test to find out if they are at risk for type 2 diabetes. They also promote the importance of physical activity by participating in Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes events across the country.
