Ross Hickey Award for Outstanding Service in Diabetes Research Funding
Ginger L. Graham, MBA
Ginger L. Graham, MBA, from Boulder, Colorado received the American Diabetes Association’s prestigious 2010 Ross Hickey Award for Outstanding Service in Diabetes Research Funding in Orlando, Florida.
Ms. Graham’s involvement with the American Diabetes Association’s Research Foundation Board has focused on board practices, goal-setting and accountability, and fundraising. She conveys her passion for the American Diabetes Association by leveraging relationships among her network on the Association’s behalf.
Ms. Graham is a faculty member at the Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts and she coaches first-time CEOs. She is the former president and chief executive officer of Amylin Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company based in San Diego, California. During her tenure at Amylin, the company launched two first-in-class medicines for people with diabetes, was listed on the NASDAQ 100, and was rated as one of the Top 10 places in the industry for scientists to work.
In addition to her role as vice chair on the Association’s Research Foundation Board, Ms. Graham serves on the Boards of Directors of Genomic Health, Inc., Proteus Biomedical Pharmaceutical Systems Division, ICAT Managers, and the California Council on Science and Technology.
Ms. Graham is a member of the Harvard Business School Health Industry Alumni Advisory Board, The University of Arkansas Chancellor’s Board of Advisors, and the University of California, San Diego Health Sciences Advisory Board. She also serves on the advisory boards for the Kellogg Center for Executive Women and the Women Business Leaders of the U.S. Health Care Industry Foundation.
