Terms for Committee Service
An individual may serve as a committee member for an initial two-year term. Appointments shall coincide with the Association's fiscal year.
Meetings and Expenses
Most national committees meet in person twice a year, in March and December. Consistent with our reimbursement guidelines, the American Diabetes Association pays for reasonable and appropriate travel and hotel expenses for committee members in connection with official meetings. Members may also choose to pay their own expenses, which typically qualify as a tax-deductible contribution for income tax purposes.
