We are seeking leaders who want to step up their participation in the Stop Diabetes movement to help us change the future of this devastating disease. Self nominations are welcome for all Vice Officer and National Board of Director positions.
Before beginning the application process, we encourage individuals to review the relevant position descriptions (which outline the responsibilities and qualifications desirable in a nominee for each position), Officer and Board Member Letter of Agreement, Conflict of Interest Policy and other reference resources that are provided below.

Member, National Board of Directors
For the 2013 Class of the National Board of Directors we seek a diverse set of nominees with demonstrated leadership in their chosen profession. For example, they are senior staff within a corporation who have been recognized by their peers for outstanding achievements, and/or are well-known in their industry. Individuals with knowledge of business practices and financial management are highly desirable. A close connection to diabetes is not necessary. We also desire candidates with proven fund raising proficiency who can help the Association form, nurture and leverage relationships with other individuals and/or large corporations. We welcome individuals from the health care professional community, including well-established, highly cited researchers or clinicians with an established interest in diabetes and recognition by their peers for their clinical or scientific expertise. In addition, we seek highly regarded individuals who represent other health professional groups including certified diabetes educators, nurses, clinical dietitians, podiatrists, pharmacists, behavioral scientists or other practice areas related to the treatment of diabetes.
The National Board of Directors will meet three times per year in March, June and November. Additionally, individuals who serve are asked to participate in a January orientation. Regular attendance and participation is expected at each of these meetings. Each Board member is assigned to serve on a national committee, which would generally meet in conjunction with the March and December Board meetings.
