Nash M. Childs, PE, Chair of the Board
Nash M. Childs has been a dedicated American Diabetes Association volunteer leader at the community, regional, and national levels for more than 20 years. At the national level, he has served on the Board of Directors, and as a member of the Fund Raising, Audit, Finance, Nominating and Community & Volunteer Development committees. He is a member of the Association's Pinnacle Society and Summit Circle. Childs is also Executive Vice President of Bancroft Construction Company in Wilmington, Delaware.
Richard M. Bergenstal, MD, President, Medicine & Science
Richard M. Bergenstal has dedicated more than 30 years of his career to making life better for people with diabetes. A dedicated American Diabetes Association volunteer leader, he has served on the Board of Directors, the Scientific Sessions Planning, Programs, and Government Relations committees, and as Chair, Professional Section Interest Group on Clinical Endocrinology, Health Care Delivery and Public Health. Bergenstal is also Executive Director of the International Diabetes Center at Park Nicollet in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Clinical Professor for the Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota.
Christine T. Tobin, RN, MBA, CDE, President, Health Care & Education
Christine T. Tobin has been an enthusiastic American Diabetes Association volunteer for 25 years. She has served on the Association's Board of Directors, the Advocacy, Provider Recognition, Research Policy, and Finance committees. She is also a member of the American Diabetes Association's Pinnacle Society. Tobin has been a diabetes educator for 26 years in a variety of clinical settings.
Gerard B. Nee, CPA, Secretary/Treasurer
Gerard B. Nee has been a committed volunteer with the American Diabetes Association for 18 years. He has served on the national Finance committee and is a member of the Investment subcommittee and Executive Compensation committee. He is a member of the American Diabetes Association's Pinnacle Society. Nee is also a partner at Wagner, Morey & Nee, LLC in New Jersey.
Larry Hausner, Chief Executive Officer
Larry Hausner joined the American Diabetes Association in 2007, bringing more than 20 years of extensive management experience in nonprofits and a strong understanding of mission-driven organizations. His focus areas include a streamlined community programs approach to ensure successful outcomes with populations at the highest risk for diabetes, and the strengthening of the Association's brand identity.
