Rodney Sampson

Rodney Sampson is Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer‚ Information Technology & Services (IT&S) for the American Diabetes Association‚ the nation’s largest voluntary health organization leading the fight to Stop Diabetes®.

Sampson joined the American Diabetes Association in April 2007 as Director‚ Technology Solutions. He was promoted to Managing Director of IT&S in April of 2010 and then to his current role in October of 2010. He is charged with continually improving the Association’s technology capabilities while controlling costs and is responsible for technology strategy‚ investment, operations, and support.

Prior to joining the American Diabetes Association‚ Sampson was Senior Director of Product Development & Operations at Control Point Solutions, Inc.‚ (CPS). In that position‚ he was responsible for software product development and support‚ coordinating more than 40 major application system releases to Fortune 100 clients‚ as well as managing end–to–end operations for customer–facing applications. Prior to CPS‚ Sampson was Senior Manager of Cost Management Systems and Network Monitoring at Nextel‚ Inc. He has also held senior management positions at MCI‚ Inc. and Robbins–Gioia‚ Inc. Sampson is also a Commissioned Officer in the United States Air Force‚ where he performed program management‚ disaster preparedness and recovery planning for HQ US Air Force and the Secretary of Defense.

Sampson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Air Force Academy and a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from George Washington University.
