Don Laing
Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Don Laing is Senior Vice President, Human Resources, of the American Diabetes Association, the nation’s largest voluntary health organization leading the fight to Stop Diabetes®.
As Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Laing is charged with executing human resource programs and practices that help the Association reach its strategic goals of being a world class organization. He joined the Association in September 2008.
Prior to the American Diabetes Association, Laing served as Vice President of Global Human Resources for Special Olympics International, based in Washington, D.C., where he was responsible for all aspects of talent management and strategic human capital functions on a worldwide basis. Previous to Special Olympics, he served for more than 20 years in senior human resources executive positions for multi-billion dollar technology, energy, and professional services companies including Tenix, PTY, LTD, Foliofn, Inc., Litton PRC (now Northrop Grumman), and Cincinnati Bell Information Systems.
Laing is an accomplished speaker on talent management topics and has held various board positions at human resources organizations, most recently serving four terms as Treasurer for the HR Leadership Forum.
He earned his BA in Business Management from National-Louis University and completed the Executive Leadership Program at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.
