Lois Witkop is Senior Vice President, Marketing Communications of the American Diabetes Association, the nation’s largest voluntary health organization leading the fight to Stop Diabetes®.
Witkop joined the American Diabetes Association in 2005 and served as the Director of Integrated Marketing before being promoted to Vice President, Strategic Marketing in December 2006. Throughout her tenure, Witkop has been the primary steward of the Association's core message and brand strategies, working with volunteers and staff to develop and implement creative and innovative marketing and promotional strategies in support of key mission-delivery and fund-raising activities. She has also spearheaded ongoing efforts to heighten awareness of the seriousness of the diabetes epidemic and the Association's brand to increase donations, volunteerism, and event participation.
Witkop has more than 15 years of integrated marketing and communications experience in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. Prior to joining the American Diabetes Association, she spent three years with the American Red Cross in Washington, D.C., successfully managing a $240 million bio-pharmaceutical product line. She also served as a Brand Manager for the Scottsdale, AZ-based Dial Corporation where she managed a large portfolio of branded commercial products.
Witkop holds a BA in English from Boston College and an MBA from Arizona State University.
