Tesch West

Tesch West, National Youth Advocate talked about Call to Congress and the importance of calling your member of Congress.

Join the fight against diabetes. Ask Congress to do more to fight diabetes!

Dates: April 28 – May 2, 2008
Call Congress: 877-ADA-2008 (877-232-2008)

Diabetes costs this country more than $174 billion dollars a year... We can’t afford to ignore it.

Call your Representative and Senators toll-free at 877-ADA-2008 between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (EST) from April 28 – May 2, 2008, and tell them we need more money for diabetes!

Talking points for your call:

  • Please support legislation that will increase research and prevention funding for diabetes at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
  • Add any personal connection to diabetes your wish to share.

We need to make sure Congress understands the effect diabetes has on the lives of the millions of people living with this disease.

With every call made you are speaking out on behalf of more than 21 million people living with diabetes!

Help us flood the Capitol Switchboard with calls to increase diabetes funding.

The American Diabetes Association is fighting to increase the federal and state commitment to prevent, treat and cure diabetes, end discrimination against people with diabetes, and ensure that people with diabetes have access to adequate and affordable health care. Your support helps us improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
