American Diabetes Association Backs Gestational Diabetes Act
Between 4-8 percent of all pregnant women are affected by gestational diabetes. The American Diabetes Association is a strong supporter of legislation, the "Gestational Diabetes Act" which aims to better understand and reduce the incidence of gestational diabetes. Diabetes accounts for over $92 billion in direct medical costs every year, and these numbers are only likely to increase. The American Diabetes Association is a strong supporter of the Diabetes Treatment and Prevention Act which would increase our availability to prevent new cases of diabetes and improve disease management.
