We are working to increase the state and federal commitment to diabetes research, treatment and programs.

Federal Research

There is important work going on to prevent, treat and eventually cure diabetes on the federal level that needs support commensurate with the seriousness of diabetes

State Diabetes Control Programs

We are encouraging state legislators to increase funding for these programs and to expand existing prevention efforts.

At-Risk Groups

Minority populations are disproportionately affected by diabetes; more research needs to be focused on the epidemic in their communities.

Prevention

Preventing or delaying the onset of type 2 diabetes reduces health care costs for everyone.
