Glad About Food
People with diabetes can eat the same foods as the rest of the family. In fact, you can eat your favorite sweets and treats. That's a relief! Choosing foods you like and eating reasonable portions are great ways to keep your blood sugar on track and reach your target weight.
Here are a few eating tips:

Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.

Make grains, starches, cereals, and potatoes a central focus of your meals.

Eat small servings of meat, fish, and poultry.

Use fats -- oil, butter -- sparingly.

Split sweets and treats with a friend or family member.

See a dietitian for your own meal plan.
