Many people check their blood sugar several times a day -- before
or after meals and before bedtime.Talk with your health care
team about when to check and what the numbers mean. |

Write down the results of your blood sugar checks in a log book
or record book. (Ask your health care provider for one.) You can
use your records to find out what's going on and to make changes
in your diabetes plan. You'll also learn about your blood sugar
patterns: when your blood sugar is too high, too low, or on track
(in your target range).
Talk with your health care team about your target blood sugar ranges.
