The American Diabetes Association’s Diabetes Expo 2008 is San Antonio’s ONLY diabetes self-care management health Expo that features informative speakers, cooking demonstrations, fun kids activities, entertainment and diabetes-focused exhibitors that feature the latest diabetes products, meters, services and medicines.  

The Bexar County incidence of diabetes is 14% compared to 7% of the general population. 257,233 people in Bexar County have diabetes. Hispanics are almost twice as likely to have diabetes as non-Hispanic whites of similar age.

Healthy Living Mercado Area

Visit our Healthy Living Mercado area featured in the center of the EXPO. You can’t miss the festive colors and decorations that are a part of the San Antonio culture. This outdoor market feel, will showcase many of our partners that offer a variety of ways to eat healthy. Live Cooking Demonstrations going on all day with free samples and recipes. Visit with our dieticians and diabetes educators to learn how to change the way you cook-not the way you eat!

Senior Zone

NEW This year is our Senior Zone where senior citizens can learn more about topics that effect their lives everyday and find resources from companies that specialize in senior care.  Evercare, SecureHorizons and Wellmed have partnered up to share with you the latest in senior care and resources available.  Come by for your free neuropathy testing by health care professionals and ask any questions at the "Ask the Doctors" booth!  During your visit be sure to register to win a 27'' Flat Screen TV!!!
