Diabetes Prevention

The recently completed Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) proved that type 2 diabetes can be prevented or delayed by keeping weight in control and by increasing physical activity. Research on diet, exercise, and other lifestyle changes may help you learn how to avoid or delay type 2 diabetes. Research is also underway to help prevent diabetes in children at risk for getting the disease.
