Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute
CHCI seeks to accomplish its mission of developing the next generation of Latino leaders by offering educational and leadership development programs, services, and activities that promote the growth of participants as effective professionals and strong leaders. In the spirit of building coalitions, CHCI seeks to establish partnerships with other Latino and non-Latino organizations.
Latino Cardiovascular Health Resources
Comprehensive community-based heart-health promotion initiative from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. It targets Latinos living in the United States. The project raises awareness of the risk factors and promotes lifestyle changes to reduce the chances of developing heart disease.
Hispanic-Serving Health Professions Schools (HSHPS)
HSHPS works to strengthen the nation's capacity to educate; to increase the number of high-quality Hispanic health care providers; to serve and improve the health professions schools in curriculum, research, and clinical experiences that will enable Hispanic and non-Hispanic health professionals to provide excellent health care to Hispanic populations.
League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC)
LULAC advances the economic conditions, educational attainment, political influence, health and civil rights of the Hispanic population in the United States.
National Alliance for Hispanic Health
The alliance's goals are to inform and mobilize consumers, support health and human services providers in the delivery of quality care, improve the science base for accurate decision making, promote appropriate use of technology and ensure accountability.
National Council of La Raza (NCLR)
The National Council of La Raza -- the largest national constituency-based Hispanic organization and the leading voice in Washington, DC, for the Hispanic community -- was established to reduce poverty and discrimination and improve life opportunities for Hispanic Americans.
National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health
The purpose of NLIRH's Policy and Advocacy program is to advance the reproductive health and rights of Latinas around the country. It advocates for Latinas and their reproductive rights at the national and state levels through legislative action, public education, and collaboration with coalition partners and community members.
National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN)
NAHN strives to serve the nursing and health care delivery needs of the Hispanic community and the professional needs of Hispanic nurses. NAHN is designed and committed to work toward improving the quality of health and nursing care for Hispanic consumers and toward providing equal access to educational, professional, and economic opportunities for Hispanic nurses.
National Hispanic Council on Aging (NHCOA)
The National Hispanic Council on Aging (NHCOA) was established as an advocacy organization with the primary purpose of improving the quality of life for Latino senior citizens, families, and communities. Since its inception, the NHCOA has focused on the importance and function of the family to assist the elderly in every aspect of living and to provide needed care in old age.
National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA)
The National Hispanic Medical Association is a non-profit association representing 36,000 licensed Hispanic physicians in the United States. The mission of the organization is to improve the health of Hispanics and other underserved populations. As a rapidly growing national resource based in the nation's capital, NHMA provides policymakers and health care providers with expert information and support in strengthening health service delivery to Hispanic communities across the nation.
Office of Minority Health, United States Department of Health and Human Services
The mission of the Office of Minority Health (OMH) is to improve and protect the health of racial and ethnic minority populations through the development of health policies and programs will help to eliminate health disparities.
United States-Mexico Border Health Commission
The United States-Mexico Border Health Commission (USMBHC or commission) was created to provide international leadership to optimize health and quality of life along the U.S.-Mexico border. The commission provides the necessary leadership to develop coordinated and binational actions to improve the health and quality of life on the border.
