Sharing Their Vision to Stop Diabetes®
Top 10 Finalist Videos are Open for Public Vote as Part of the Share Your Vision Video Contest
703-549-1500 ext. 2231
Now that movie award season is in full swing, the American Diabetes Association is inviting the public to become a film critic. Between now and January 24, the public is invited to vote for the three finalists, which includes the grand-prize winner in the Share Your Vision to Stop Diabetes® video contest. The video contest is sponsored by VSP® Vision Care and the public can vote at www.stopdiabetes.com.
During American Diabetes Month® last November, people from around the country created 30-second videos on why they wanted to Stop Diabetes. The top 10 videos have been selected and now it is the public’s turn to decide who will be the winner. The top three finalists will receive an Apple® iPad®. In addition, the grand-prize winner will receive the opportunity to be a part of a Stop Diabetes public service announcement.
“These videos are powerful and capture the many reasons why we need to Stop Diabetes,” commented Larry Hausner, CEO, American Diabetes Association. “So many talented people have submitted compelling stories showing how diabetes has made an impact in their world.”
The Share Your Vision to Stop Diabetes finalists are:
• Laurie Basloe, Brooklyn, NY
• Max Gabbay, Gaithersburg, MD
• Kenneth Garner, Madison, TN
• Bethany Hughes, Staunton, VA
• Brett Roberson, Phoenix, AZ
• Toby Smithson, Vernon Hills, IL
• Anna Katherine Tollett, Ruston, LA
• Rebekah Tripp, Sherman Oaks, CA
• Maria Wagner, Pittsburgh, PA
• Rachel Wright, Littleton, CO
Voting closes on January 24, 2011 at midnight EST. The winners will be announced on January 31.
