Statement Regarding Calls Claiming to Be the American Diabetes Association

Recently, the American Diabetes Association was notified about several calls where the caller claimed to represent the Association, asked for personal information, and offered free diabetes supplies. These calls are not affiliated with the American Diabetes Association. We never ask an individual for personal information such as social security number, birth date, Medicare, meter or insurance information.
The American Diabetes Association values the trust that all of these contributions symbolize, and is committed to fighting fraud and ensuring that all funds intended to help people with diabetes are used for that purpose. If you are contacted by someone requesting your personal and/or medical information, please contact the Better Business Bureau in your area at www.bbb.org or call (703) 276-0100.
