Justin's Journal: Halloween & early November
November 6, 2006
Hey everyone! I hope everyone remembered to give themselves insulin over Halloween! Every year, the time comes around of getting candy, and LOTS OF CANDY! I am sure the hospitals get a lot of kids who have diabetes who forgot to give themselves insulin and ate all of that candy and went into a high blood sugar shock. I hope you weren't one of those. We all like candy no matter what kind it is and no one has to do anything besides eat it, besides persons with diabetes. Every time we eat something we have to remember to balance and other people don't. That's an extra step to our lives and we have to take it seriously.
I also went to a Pump Meeting this past week. I have only been on the pump for about 5 weeks but I was on it a while ago for 2 years. I like the pump because I don't have to do shots, only one shot every 2 days. It is better to change your site every 2 days and not 3 because it's better for your body. Even though they say you can do three, it's better to do 2 days. At the pump meeting I was one of the speakers for the youth. I had a great time and got to meet some new people. There were many questions that were asked and there were lots of answers to be given out as well. It was a great experience.
Well, it's November now and Thanksgiving is almost here. I will do a couple more journal entries before that time about my experience at the Dallas Convention where I get inducted in, and one about Thanksgiving.
For now!

I'd like to hear from you! Email me at nya@diabetes.org.
