Banting Circle Elite 2009
The Abbott Fund enables the American Diabetes Association to enhance our community outreach to the Latino community through The Por Tu Familia Adult Prevention Toolkit, which is designed to help organizations provide educational resources to their constituents. Abbott supported a recent study conducted by the Association to examine the relationship between hemoglobin A1C levels and average blood glucose. The study research shows the importance of adopting estimated average glucose (eAG) as a new way to improve patients' understanding of blood glucose control.
Eli Lilly supports the Association's Cardiometabolic Risk Initiative, which is designed to educate consumers and healthcare practitioners about preventing type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Lilly supports the American Diabetes Association's Annual Outstanding Educator Award and Outstanding Scientific Achievement Award. Eli Lilly supports Wizdom Kits for families of children with diabetes and also provides financial assistance to children attending camp programs.
Merck & Company is helping the Association to educate clinicians about improving diabetes care through a physician self-assessment program. The company also supports diabetes research through the American Diabetes Association/Merck Clinical Translational Science Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards. Additionally, they support the American Diabetes Association's Cardiometabolic Risk Initiative to raise awareness about preventing type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Merck is a patron sponsor of our Annual Scientific Sessions, the largest diabetes meeting in the world.
Novo Nordisk helps to further our research efforts through the American Diabetes Association-Novo Nordisk Clinical/Translational Science Research Awards. In addition, the company supports the Association's Safe at School campaign, designed to improve the care of children with diabetes in the school setting. The company also supported a research study to establish worldwide screening standards for people with diabetes. The company also supports patient education at the community level through Diabetes EXPO.
Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. supporting the Association through a Men's Health program which encourages men, and their spouses to adopt a more comprehensive approach to their health and to improve their overall quality of life. Through Solvay’s support, the Association produced a handbook entitled The Modern Men's Guide to Living Well with Diabetes.
sanofi-aventis supports our Cardiometabolic Risk Initiative to raise awareness about preventing type 2 diabetes and heart disease. The company also supports Feria de Salud, an outdoor community-based event intended to reach Latinos with important messaging about living with and preventing diabetes.
Takeda Pharmaceuticals supports research grants, such as the American Diabetes Association/Takeda Pharmaceuticals Cardiovascular Complications in Diabetes Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards and the American Diabetes Association/Takeda Pharmaceuticals Beta Cell Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards. Takeda supports the American Diabetes Association's Cardiometabolic Risk Initiative and a self-assessment program to help clinicians in diabetes management.

Amylin Pharmaceuticals supports the American Diabetes Association’s Research Foundation through the Distinguished Clinical Scientist Award (DCSA), which is the Association's most prestigious research and largest annual award which recognizes outstanding scientists who have advanced the field of patient-oriented diabetes research.

BD Diabetes Care supports the Association's CAMP program, which focuses on diabetes management and education for children living with the disease. In addition, BD supports local community events and programs across the country such as Step Out: Walk For Diabetes.
