Camp provides a fun and unique experience, inviting kids and their families to become part of a community where they can grow together. For nearly 70 years, we’ve run camps across the country serving over 100,000 children and their families. Camp is a lifeline for both children living with diabetes and those at high risk for developing type 2. We know first-hand how children respond to learning in a safe and fun environment. We believe every child should have the life-changing experience of summer camp.
We opened our first Camp in 1949 and to-date we have proudly provided this life-changing experience to over 100,000 campers, Camp families and volunteers.
Camp fosters fun, independence, self-confidence and expands children’s knowledge of diabetes while making friends who understand what it’s like living with diabetes and creating experiences that last a lifetime.
Project Power blends fun activities and wellness education to help children at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes learn valuable skills they need to live a full and healthy life.
Managing 6,000 campers and 2,000 volunteers at 68 camps requires a significant investment.
Who says only kids get to go to camp? You can join the fun by volunteering at one of our Camps.
We are grateful for the generosity of our supporters. We couldn't provide this life-changing experience without you!
