About the Camp
ADA Camp Sealth on Vashon Island is a magical place that’s completely unique in the U.S. Our overnight summer camp for kids with diabetes is the only one that offers kids with diabetes the opportunity to attend camp with their family and friends while still being fully supported in their diabetes management.
A team of more than 60 providers, nurses, nutritionists, counselors, and other staff work with our campers throughout the week to help them learn new skills and gain confidence in their ability to manage their diabetes. All diabetes management supplies, from insulin and pen/pump supplies to meters and test strips, are provided as well. One parent said, “He always learns new skills and gets exposure to new products at camp. It is such an amazing experience for the whole family.” Campers also participate in all of the traditional summer camp activities, from hikes and water sports to crafts and campfires.
The American Diabetes Association is committed to providing educational information and referral services for children with diabetes and their families, advocating for fair and quality treatment of children with diabetes in schools, and increasing federal funding for diabetes research.
Applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Limited space is available.
