Event Highlights
- Cooking Demonstration by Jamie Deen - with the announcement of Paula Deen's type 2 diabetes, she and her sons, Bobby and Jamie Deen, started a new initiative called Diabetes in a New Light™ to demonstrate that diabetes management doesn’t have to stand in the way of enjoying life and delicious food. Through the program, the Deens are sharing diabetes-friendly versions of recipes and appearing at diabetes events across the country. Jamie Deen, host of the upcoming Food Network show “Home for Dinner”, will be cooking up a recipe created especially for the campaign.
- New and more interactive American Diabetes Association Experience - more interactive Tour de Cure bike challenges, updated program initiatives such as Living with Type 2 and Recipes for a Healthy Living and learn about the research being funding locally by the Association.
- Youth Zone speakers with topics specific for parents of children with diabetes - including a Safe at School presentation with opportunity for parents to ask questions about Section 504 and The Care of Students with Diabetes Act with lawyers
- Pathways guidelines for those living with diabetes - complete your Diabetes Pathway and follow up survey at the event and receive a chance to win one of several prizes including: a full Body Shape Kit Plus donated by Life Fitness! (Prizes must be taken on the day of the event)

Parking
Premiere parking in Underground Parking Lot C. Handicap parking is in Lot C, Upper Level, West side (use West side elevator) or you may drop off participants at Gate 37, Lakeside Center Taxi Drop Off area.
The parking rate in Lot C is a flat fee of $21 per day with no in-and-out privileges.
Parking in Lot B (farther walking distance from hall, please see link below) is a flat fee of $14 per day with no in-and-out privileges.
For parking information at the EXPO, select one of the options on the McCormick Place site.
Public Transportation to McCormick Place is available and highly recommended; Driving directions to McCormick Place are also available, get the details.
