YMCA of Austin's MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition, Do it!) Program - Fall 2013
The YMCA of Austin is currently offering a free childhood obesity intervention program that is open via physician referral. MEND is a 10-week, twice a week weight management program where overweight children between the ages of 7 to 13 learn how to lead healthy lifestyles.
The program requires engagement of parents to support a family lifestyle change. The MEND program has shown significant improvement in waist circumference, BMI, cardiovascular fitness, and self-esteem in the past participants and has been adapted to U.S. dietary and policy guidelines.
If you are interested in this program or would like more information, please contact Missy Quintela at 512-236-9622 or email@example.com.
