Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes®
Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes is the American Diabetes Association's signature fundraising event, held in more than 200 cities during the fall. With nearly 25.8 million Americans living with diabetes, the Association created Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes as an aggressive campaign against the disease — and a cry of hope for those affected by it.
At the events, routes are 3-5 miles and are accessible to people of all ages and levels of mobility. Along the walk, participants are supported by volunteers offering water, nutritious snacks, entertainment and encouragement. The events draw a large contingency of individuals and teams, comprised of families, friends and corporations, all walking and raising money in support of the Association.

Friends for the Cure, Party of the Cure Event
The Friends for the Cure committee was formed by Margery Teller with a group of dedicated friends and business associates in response to Margie's daughter's diagnosis with type 1 diabetes. Trading success has allowed Margie to champion the diabetes cause, but one individual cannot pursue this mission alone. Together the Friends have a vision of uniting the top individuals and corporations in the Chicago area to meet the financial challenge, supporting critical type 1 research that will produce the cure for this devastating disease. Together, Friends for the Cure has raised nearly 1.5 million dollars toward this mission.
Party of the Cure is hosted by Friends for the Cure, a committee dedicated to ending diabetes. Proceeds from this event support the American Diabetes Association.
