Ohioans are increasingly feeling the effects of diabetes as thousands of people suffer from the disease, and many others may have diabetes and not know it! The Ohio Department of Health estimates that 10.1 percent of Ohio adults have been diagnosed with diabetes - more than 895,000 people. That is why the American Diabetes Association's Columbus office is so committed to educating the public about how to stop diabetes and support those living with the disease.
We are here to help.

The goal of this program is to increase awareness regarding the seriousness of diabetes and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment within the African American community. The program includes informative church and community-based activities, such as Project POWER and Choose to Live.
Stop Diabetes @ Work
Bring health, wellness, and diabetes education into your office with Stop Diabetes @ Work. Stop Diabetes @ Work is a research-based initiative that can be customized to fit within your existing wellness efforts or used as a stand-alone healthy worksite program. In addition to the co-branded employee portal, employees will build camaraderie during wellness, walk and cycling events. Our lunch & learn series is available through this program.
Health Fairs & Speakers Bureau
The Central Ohio Office is happy to work with local organizations to attend health fairs and speaking events. Please note that we are a very small staff and utilize the help of volunteers. If you are a medical professional, CDE, or diabetes advocate, we are seeking dedicated individuals who are interested in representing the Association through speaking engagements.
