Corpus Christi, Texas

Over 30 million Americans are affected by diabetes. People in South Texas are increasingly feeling the effects of diabetes as approximately 86,000 people in the Coastal Bend battle diabetes and prediabetes every day. Many of them don't even know it! It is estimated that one in three Americans will have diabetes by the year 2050, if current trends continue.

The American Diabetes Association's Corpus Christi office is dedicated to ensuring the before mentioned statistic does not become a reality by raising funds for research, programing and advocacy. The Corpus Christi office is committed to educating the public about how to stop diabetesand support those living with the disease through our many fundraising events.

We are here to help.

Camp Sandcastle

Camp Sandcastle was established in 1992 and has served over 700 campers and is hosted at Camp Aranzazu, an American Camping Association certified camp.  This woodland setting is a wonderful place to commune with nature just outside Copano Bay where campers enjoy kayaking, fishing, ziplining and tons of other fun activities.  Camp Sandcastle is a lifeline for children with diabetes to develop critical skills needed to thrive while managing this disease.

Wellness Lives Here

Wellness Lives Here will educate and motivate people to adopt healthful habits to reduce the impact of obesity and type 2 diabetes in this country. For some, it will mean fewer sick days and higher productivity. For others, it will mean looking and feeling better. For everyone, the result will be more empowered Americans who are better able to control, delay or stop diabetes and related health problems.
