Coloradans are increasingly feeling the effects of diabetes as 410,312 Coloradans suffer from the disease, and an additional 1.3 million more have prediabetes. It is estimated that one out of every three children born after 2000 in the United States will be directly affected by diabetes.
That is why the American Diabetes Association's Denver office is so committed to educating the public about how to stop diabetes and support those living with the disease.
We are here to help.
The American Diabetes Association Colorado offers a wide variety of programs and events throughout the year for those who are living with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, prediabetes and their loved ones! To view a list of all of our ongoing programs and events, please visit our Get Involved page.
Sock It to Diabetes
Did you know that each month about 1,583 Coloradans are diagnosed with diabetes? Thanks to the generous support of the Colorado Rapids, WellDyne and BOA, you can help raise awareness and funds for the American Diabetes Association when you post using #DiabetesSocks on social media during American Diabetes Month. If we get 1,583 social posts with #DiabetesSocks in November these sponsors will donate $20,000 to help Stop Diabetes in Colorado!
Visit www.sockittodiabetes.org to learn more and get your socks!
Colorado Gives Day
Give where you live on December 8! Colorado Gives Day is an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy through online giving. Please consider a gift to the American Diabetes Association as part of your year-end giving. A gift on Colorado Gives Day is increased by the $1 Million Incentive fund which matches all contributions made that day.
Interested in workplace giving? The American Diabetes Association Colorado is a proud member of Community Health Charities Colorado.
WellCard Health is a free medical discount card program available to everyone! Save on prescriptions, doctor visits, diabetes supplies and more! And every time you use your WellCard a portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Diabetes Association Colorado!
We welcome your help.
Your involvement as an American Diabetes Association volunteer — whether on a local or national level — will help us expand our community outreach and impact, inspire healthy living, intensify our advocacy efforts, raise critical dollars to fund our mission, and uphold our reputation as the moving force and trusted leader in the diabetes community.
