Family Link Colorado

Learning to live with diabetes doesn't happen overnight – and you don't have to do it alone.
That's why the American Diabetes Association's Family Link program is is here for your family when you need us most – every day.
In Colorado, we offer a number of social and support programs for families, including:
Parent to Parent Network
The Parent to Parent Network offers the chance for newly diagnosed families to interact with other families living with diabetes. Send us an email letting us know that you would join the Parent to Parent Network – either as a mentor or as someone in need of assistance.
Social Events
You can find out about all of the fun social events for families in Colorado on our Community Calendar. We usually hold about 4 events a year plus a Family Retreat in November.
Safe at School
Do you need some guidance now that your child with diabetes is in school? The American Diabetes Association in Colorado has partnered with other organizations to form the Colorado Kids with Diabetes Collaborative to ensure that children with diabetes are cared for and Safe at School.
Please visit www.coloradokidswithdiabetes.org for additional resources for parents, nurses and schools to help keep your child Safe at School.
Additionally, the Association holds Safe at School workshops throughout the year (schedule is available on the community calendar) to empower families to understand the rights of their child with diabetes in the school setting. The Association also offers parent advocates who can help families who may need additional guidance working with their school.
