Family Link Colorado

Family Link - 200x85

Learning to live with diabetes doesn't happen overnight—and you don't have to do it alone. The American Diabetes Association's Family Link program is here for you when you need us most—every day. In Colorado we offer a number of social and support programs for families.

Parent to Parent Network

The Parent to Parent Network offers the chance for newly diagnosed families to interact with other families living with diabetes. If you are interested in joining the Parent to Parent Network—either as a mentor or as someone in need of assistance—please contact Emily Fay-Enriquez at emfay@diabetes.org.

Social Events

You can find out about all of the fun social events for families in Colorado on our Community Calendar. Activities are planned throughout the year for kids with diabetes of all ages and their families!

Safe at School

Do you need some guidance now that your child with diabetes is in school? The American Diabetes Association in Colorado has joined with other organizations to form the Colorado Kids with Diabetes Care and Prevention Collaborative to ensure that children with diabetes are cared for and Safe at School. Please visit www.coloradokidswithdiabetes.org for additional resources for parents, nurses and schools to help keep your child Safe at School.

Safe at School workshops are held throughout the year (schedule on the community calendar) to empower families to understand the rights of their child with diabetes in the school setting. The Association also offers parent advocates who can help families who may need additional guidance working with their school.
