Our special events help raise critical funds for educational programs, advocacy and research while forwarding the mission of the American Diabetes Association: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

Tour de Cure

Tour de Cure - 200x45

Many Roads. One Purpose. Ride, Walk, Run or Ninja! Cycling Routes vary from 10 miles to 100 miles with fully stocked rest stops, full lunch, live entertainment and amazing start and finish energy. Tour also features a 5K Walk and Run, Xtreme Ninja Course and Community Festival.

We support people through awareness programs, educational events and youth intiatives programs in Colorado to help educate, increase knowledge about the Association and its events, and help fulfill the Associaton's mission to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

Family Link

Learning to live with diabetes doesn't happen overnight - and you don't have to do it alone. The Family Link program offers support and resources for families living with type 1 diabetes when you need us most - every day. The Colorado Family Link program offers: Parent Mentors, Camp Colorado, A1C - Adults with Type 1 Diabetes Community, Safe at School, Everyday Wisdom Kits, Social Events and more!

Latino Initiatives

Latino Initiatives in Colorado seeks to inform and educate the Latino/Hispanic community about the seriousness of diabetes and the importance of regular exercise and eating healthy. The programs components are community-based health awareness, outreach and education through workshops and events. Latino Initiatives in Colorado offers Diabetes Self-Management Education, Diabetes Prevention Program, Bi-National Health Week, Everybody Move for Your Health, Ventanillas de Salud and more! Diabetes Prevention Program

As part of the Colorado Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), the Association holds pending recognition status from the CDC to offer DPP classes in both English and Spanish. The 16 week course aims to help participants lose 5-7% of their body weight to lower their risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Wellness Lives Here Colorado presented by Centura Health, is designed to inspire and fuel our nation's healthful habits at work and beyond. Through Mission Engagement Days, Health Champion Designations, CEO Leadership Circle and more, Wellness Lives Here helps companies and organizations champion a culture of wellness with the support of the American Diabetes Association.
