"You have diabetes" is a statement that nearly 1.4 million Americans (20 years or older) will be stunned to hear this year. In Hawaii, over 154,000 people have diabetes, of which 46,000 remain undiagnosed. Additionally, the prevalence of gestational diabetes mellitus in Hawaii is 8.7%, the highest in the nation. The Association is committed to providing the necessary information, tools and other resources to all affected by diabetes to raise awareness and improve outcomes of those affected by diabetes or prediabetes.

The purpose of the Living With Type 2 Diabetes program is to provide diabetes educational materials, tools, support services, and other resources to those affected by diabetes so they can make healthier lifestyle choices, and experience reduced onset of diabetes and its complications.
