Kentuckians and West Virginians are increasingly feeling the effects of diabetes as thousands of people suffer from the disease, and many others may have diabetes and not know it! It is estimated that one out of every three children born after 2000 in the United States will be directly affected by diabetes.
That is why the American Diabetes Association's Lexington office is so committed to educating the public about how to stop diabetes and support those living with the disease.
We are here to help.
Family Link is a program that helps families when they need it most—every day. This program makes it possible for families of children with diabetes to meet one another and receive the information and support they need to cope with diabetes. Family Link offers families social and educational events, school advocacy and one on one emotional support for parents through our Parent Mentor program. Through Family Link activities and Parent Mentor volunteers, we are able to offer families hope and help through emotional support, diabetes information, events and activities, and communication regarding other Association activities and resources.
For more information about Family Link, or to hear about upcoming events, please contact Lisa Edwards at email@example.com or 859-268-9129 ext. 3327.
