Western Texas

Greeting Page Volunteer

Approximately 2,841,723 people in Texas have diabetes. Diabetes continues to rise at alarming rates. Three friends, neighbors, co-workers or family members will be diagnosed every minute of every day.

The American Diabetes Association is the only organization fighting all types of diabetes - type 1, type 2, and gestational- children and adults. In West Texas, we connect families, visit children and teens who are newly diagnosed, provide people with the latest knowledge to help them most effectively manage diabetes daily and much more.

We are here to help!

Camp NoLoHi

Camp NoLoHi is a lifeline for children with diabetes to develop the critical skills needed to thrive while managing this disease. Attending summer camp helps children develop social skills, self-respect and life-long friendships. We give kids the opportunity to meet other kids just like them while fostering independence, building self-confidence and gaining an awareness of a healthy lifestyle through education, nutrition, exercise, emotional well-being and glucose control.

Become a Diabetes Advocate!

Life isn't fair for people with diabetes. First, there is the simple fact of coping with a chronic illness.  Second, there are the barriers that prevent people with diabetes from enjoying the same opportunities at the rest of the population. Our Advocacy efforts work to bring down the barriers and fund critical diabetes research.  Take action and become a Diabetes Advocate today!
