Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota

Minnesota - Local Office - Feature Image

Minnesotans are increasingly feeling the effects of diabetes as over 466,000 Minnesotans suffer from the disease, and many others may have diabetes and may not know it! It's estimated that 1 in 3 Americans will have diabetes by the year 2050 if the disease continues at its current rate.

That is why the American Diabetes Association's Minneapolis-Saint Paul office is so committed to educating the public about how to stop diabetes and support those living with the disease.

We are here to help!

Minnesota EXPO

As a result from the American Diabetes Association's new Strategic Plan and direction, we are no longer moving forward with the Minneapolis Diabetes EXPO at this time. However, we are excited to let you know that we are partnering with our local Walmart stores to provide Walmart Wellness Days (WWD).  During these days, you can stop by Walmart for details on healthy living and free health screenings.

Camps

Our diabetes camps are a lifeline for children with diabetes to develop the critical skills needed to thrive while managing this disease. Attending summer camp helps children develop social skills, self-respect and life-long friendships. We give kids the opportunity to meet other kids just like them while fostering independence, building self-confidence and gaining an awareness of a healthy lifestyle through education, nutrition, exercise, emotional well-being and glucose control. The American Diabetes Association hosts 3 nearby camps for children with diabetes of various age ranges: Camp Sioux (8-15, North Dakota), Camp Needlepoint (8-16, Wisconsin) and Camp Daypoint (5-9, Wisonsin).
