Upcoming Volunteer Opportunity

Over 100 volunteers are needed for Friday, November 1st and Saturday, November 2nd for our Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes Event.

Event Volunteers

We always looking for committed individuals willing to lend their time to help out on event day.

Health Fairs Volunteers

Individuals needed to staff tables at various health fairs. Responsibilities include setting up displays and disseminating diabetes pamphlets. Must be able to volunteer during weekdays and weekends.

Speaker Bureau Volunteers

The Central Florida American Diabetes Association office receives many requests for speakers each month. We are always looking for healthcare professional to speak at certain small events (at retirement centers, schools, corporate health events, community centers, etc.) Most speeches are no more than a half an hour, but could be longer. We will provide you with information, materials and guidance to make sure you have enough material to speak about. You must be able to provide your own transportation to the event site, and be willing to speak in front of small and large groups of people.

*Speaker Bureau Volunteers must be a healthcare professionals and knowledgably in diabetes care, prevention, etc.

Internships

Internship opportunities availability with our Special Events department. Special event interns will focus efforts on the various fundraisers including the “Tour de Cure” bicycle ride, “Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes" and or "Father of the Year" Events. This unpaid internship can provide school credit and offers valuable experience in the non-profit and event planning industries. Hours are part-time and the schedule can be flexible.

Candidates must be energetic, team players, results-oriented and dedicated to the achievement of personal and team goals. This internship requires candidates with confidence in interpersonal communication, comfort with phone cultivation and a passion for making a difference in the lives of people with and affected by diabetes.
