Live Empowered Programs
Project POWER
Project POWER provides churches with a foundation that would assist them with integrating diabetes awareness messages and life application principles into the life of their congregation. Churches conduct workshops outlined in Project POWER and implement strategies and initiatives that support healthy lifestyles. The workshops are as follows:
- Diabetes Day
- Power Over Diabetes
- Fit for the Master’s Use
- Taste and See
- A Clean Heart
- Train Up A Child
Super Diabetes Sunday
During a Super Diabetes Sunday, a designated appointee shares information with the audience about the seriousness of diabetes. The presentation is brief (approx. 5 min.) and materials are distributed. Diabetes Day can also be implemented in churches, senior centers, community centers, and other venues during special events and health fairs.
Live It Up!
Live It Up! is a fun-spirited event for African American women. This event showcases beautiful African American women, coming with their fun fashionable "Hattitude" and leaving with a healthy educated "Attitude!" This program host health exhibits, fashion show, motivational speakers, prizes, shopping, gift bags, and a hat contest, with awards.
