Rochester, New York
New Yorkers are increasingly feeling the effects of diabetes as thousands of people suffer from the disease, and many others may have diabetes and not know it! It is estimated that one out of every three children born after 2000 in the United States will be directly affected by diabetes.
That is why the American Diabetes Association's Rochester office is so committed to educating the public about how to stop diabetes and support those living with the disease.
We are here to help.
The American Diabetes Association's Rochester office serves the community with a variety of FREE programs, workshops and awareness campaigns for people living with diabetes, their friends and their families. For information about any of our programs, please contact Beth Smythe @ email@example.com.
Focusing on the African American community, Live Empowered offers a number of programs including the faith-based Project POWER and Choose to Live, a diabetes awareness toolkit. Community-based activities and workshops are also available.
Por tu familia
Our flagship Latino Intiatives program, Por tu familia, includes publications on topics ranging from cooking with Latin flair, to be being more physically active, to maintaining a healthy weight as well as a variety of community-based events, workshops and activities.
