Diabetes Educators

Missourians are increasingly feeling the effects of diabetes as thousands of people suffer from the disease, and many others have diabetes and do not yet know it! It is estimated that one out of every three children born after 2000 in the United States will be directly affected by diabetes.
That is why the American Diabetes Association's St. Louis area office is so committed to educating the public about how to stop diabetes and support those living with the disease.
We are here to help.

In Memorium - Ed Hirsch

With great sadness we announce the passing of Ed Hirsch, Emeritus Member of the St. Louis ADA Community Leadership Board, and pioneer and driving force with his late wife Gloria of Bike-A-Thon and Camp EDI. Each year Ed visited Camp EDI, and with his wonderful smile and a sparkle in his eye, he would tell us that the visit was absolutely the highlight of his year. Ed left us on Saturday, June 8, the opening day of 2013 Camp EDI. Ed and Gloria's legacy will live on as lives of children with diabetes are changed, improved and inspired by their camp experience and the bond that forms with their peers with diabetes. To those of you who knew and loved Ed and Gloria, we join you in this time of sorrow.
