Salt Lake City, Utah

Utahns are increasingly feeling the effects of diabetes as thousands of people suffer from the disease, and many others may have diabetes and not know it! It is estimated that one out of every three children born after 2000 in the United States will be directly affected by diabetes.

That is why the American Diabetes Association's Salt Lake City office is so committed to educating the public about how to stop diabetes and support those living with the disease.

We are here to help.

Program Info

Family Link

Learning to live with diabetes dosen't happen overnight and we don't want parents and children to have to do it alone. Family Link connects families with other families of kids with diabetes with our national resources and local events. We provide information and services including advocacy, education, and social events to families living with diabetes throughout Utah. We are dedicated to strengthening relationships between children with diabetes, their families, their diabetes care team and their school and improving education and awareness. Our goal is to help connect parents with mentors who understand how they are feeling, and through fun and social diabetes education events, offer families an opportunity to learn more about diabetes and meet other families of children with diabetes. Just a few examples of our Family Link events include Diabetes Clubhouse, a 2-day camp for kids ages 4-7, Summer Social in the park and our Sweet Kids Halloween Party.
