In My Community

Live EMPOWERED is an American Diabetes Association faith-based program targeting the African American community, developed to provide churches with a foundation for integrating diabetes awareness messages and healthy living tips into the life of the family and church. Utilizing a train the trainer model, it engages the church and community organizations in a variety of year-round activities that provide health lessons which improve the health of those living with diabetes, their families and the greater community as well. ID Day - I Decide to Stop Diabetes

November is American Diabetes Month and a time to communicate the seriousness of diabetes and the importance of diabetes prevention and control. In concert with the other American Diabetes Month activities, churches across the country are engaging their communities in celebration of ID Day at Church, a nationwide movement to Stop Diabetes® on the second Sunday in November.

What can your church do?
