Just A Touch — A Lesson about Nerve Damage
Just A Touch is a community based educational module that discusses nerve damage, also known as neuropathy, which is a common complication resulting from diabetes.
The module was developed with support from Pfizer.
The most common type of nerve damage from diabetes called peripheral neuropathy can cause tingling, pain, numbness, or weakness in your feet and hands.
The second most common type of nerve damage from diabetes is called autonomic neuropathy. It can cause problems with digestion of food, the bladder, and sexual function.
This workshop is facilitated by a trained healthcare professional and can be implemented in a variety of settings.

Just a Touch - A Lesson about Kidney Damage
Just A Touch is a community based educational module that is the second in the Diabetes and its Complications series and can be used in any community based venue.
The target audience is African Americans who have diabetes or are at high risk for developing the disease and those wanting to learn more about nephropathy.
The goal is to raise awarness of diabetic nephropathy among those diagnosed with diabetes including prevention, delaying the onset of symptoms, and management of the disease.
The objective is for participants to be able to identify all symptoms associated with nephropathy and be able to consult their healthcare team and ask questions related to nephropathy.
