I am living with type 1 diabetes and have been for 34 years of my life.

Living with diabetes is 24/7 every day. There’s not an area of my daily life not affected with either thought or action on my part – or others in my life – that having diabetes is not considered.

The good news is nearly all of this is overall positive and not restrictive. Despite this being a tough disease, it can also be a blessing in disguise since it causes such a focus on your lifestyle, diet and exercise!

As one of America’s and the world’s fastest growing diseases with a significant negative impact on lives, we must stop this disease!

I am on a mission to do everything in my power – anything and everything possible – to help knock this disease out for adults and children everywhere!

My photograph shows me on my mountain bike at Bear Creek State Park in Lakewood, Colorado. The photograph on my road bike was taken at Chatfield State Park in Littleton, CO.
