At nearly 16.1 percent, American Indians and Alaska Natives have the highest age-adjusted prevalence of diabetes among all U.S. racial and ethnic groups.
We develop and disseminate educational materials and participate in advocacy activities to spread the word about diabetes in our community.
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2013 John Pipe Voices For Change Awards.
These are substantial type 1 diabetes research programs and prevention and treatment programs for Native American communities.
