Register Diabetes Advocate From the halls of Congress to your state house and courts, make your voice heard! You can do this simply by taking action on urgent alerts, contacting your elected officials, and spreading the word about the importance of increasing funding to prevent, treat and cure diabetes, improving access to health care, and eliminating discrimination against people with diabetes Oregon/Idaho Area
Register Diabetes Expo/Community Forum EXPO is a FREE event for the public and includes health screenings, cooking demonstrations, product and service exhibitors and leading experts talking about diabetes management and prevention. Volunteer opportunities for EXPO include: pre-event preparation and organization, day of event set-up and take-down, registration assistance, grassroots efforts, acting as area captains for event stations, and/or other general event needs. Register General Outreach, Awareness & Education Participate in outreach activities, grassroots efforts and general promotion of our professional and patient education events, Alert Day (March), American Diabetes Month (November), Health Fairs and more. Oregon/Idaho Area
Register Office Volunteer Volunteering for the American Diabetes Association office staff may consist of assistance with administrative duties including: data entry in Word & Excel, office mailings, printing and copying, pre- and post event organization tasks, grassroots efforts and/or other general office needs. Oregon/Idaho Area
Register Other Special Events Assist in general event preparation, planning and day-of-event needs for events such as Father of the Year and other appreciation type events. Register Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes Step out: Walk to Stop Diabetes is the Associations signature one-day, fundraising and awareness walk that takes place in more than 130 cities across the United States. Volunteering for this event includes the following opportunities: Committee leaders, day of event set- up and take down, food service, registration, route monitoring, crowd control, grassroots efforts and/or other general event needs. Register Tour de Cure Tour de Cure is the Associations premiere fundraising and awareness cycling event that takes place in 86 cities across the United States. Volunteering for this event includes the following opportunities: Committee leaders, day of event set- up and take down, food service, registration, parking, route monitoring, crowd control, grassroots efforts and other general event needs.
